No Vote, No Voice.

06.05.10

Hey Everyone (Leth-fans in the UK),

Phil here. Just a quick note about today’s election.

I know we’re seen as a political band but I’m not about to tell you who to vote for, I’m not generally the guy who writes the lyrics in the band either. I’ll do the odd song on a very rare occasion (Black Gold for example, was about Bush’s obvious hunt for Oil).

We only really write about what’s important to us, sometimes it can be on a personal level but if it has a political bent, it’s because we think more people should be made aware of what’s going on.

Which is why I’m writing today. Like I said, I’m not telling you who to vote for but I am asking that if you’re in a position to vote, that you do so. Our country may change for the better or worse today and it’s up to everyone in the UK to make a choice on what you want to happen next.

I’ve not got the time for people who say “Oh, I don’t vote – I don’t care who wins” or “I’m not into politics” cause those are generally the people who will moan about what’s going on more than anyone else. If you don’t vote, you’re denying yourself the right to even be upset about the state of our economy, our hospitals, the armed forces, our schools, even all the bloody speed cameras and speed bumps that the council just seem to keep putting up (who do you think is giving them the money to do so?) and pretty much any other topic that isn’t a personal thing to you.

If you’re not voting as you don’t know who to vote for, now’s the time to read up on the parties policies. Jump onto google and just type in “(party name) policies”. There’s a lot more out there than the big 3, if you find a party that share your views, and I’m sure you can find one that’s closer than all others, you know what you need to do.

If you can pick up the phone and vote for Simon Cowell’s piggy bank, you can go to your nearest polling station and vote for your future.

New Tour Date Added

05.04.10

We’ve added a new date to the end of our Mini Tour starting in 2 days time!

We can’t wait to get back on the road and we also can’t wait to play back on our home patch, that’s right! We’ll be live at The Duke in Neath on April 11th.

Support is gonna be from a new and upcoming Neath band, Stars & Flights. We caught the guys playing a few weeks ago, they’re really young and really talented and we thought they’d be the perfect ice-breaker to the night, get down early and make sure you catch them.

Here’s the rest of the tour dates before the Duke:

Parrots & Pop Shields

21.01.10

Well, tonight myself and Andrew have been laying down vocals for our most recent demos. It’s taken us a while but we’re almost finished. We had a listen back to some mixes and they’re sounding pretty good. “Pretty, pretty good.”

We spent most of our time recording drums and guitars at our own jam room and The Last Republic (see our links page) have also lent us their space when Gaz needed to be extra loud (thanks guys).

Over the next couple of weeks Andy, Marc and myself will be finishing the vocals and then we’ll have a complete set of demos ready for the next album. Tonight we’ve been using Moongazer’s (see our links page) rehearsal space for laying down the vocals.

Special thanks goes out to Nigel Davies, who also showed us how his gas heater works, I spent the best part of half hour trying to switch it on instead of setting up the mics, then Andy burned his leg! But other than that, he did have a very productive night as you can see…

All we’ve got to do next, is pick 10+ songs for the album, it’s not gonna be easy as we’ve never had so many songs ready for our next release. I’ve got an idea of what I’d like to be on there but we’re all gonna have to come to a group decision, we’ve always managed when it comes to stuff like that though.

On another note, earlier this week we were asked by a fan if there was anywhere they could get Road Out Of Nowhere, it got me thinking and after a bit of digging, Andy came across half a dozen copies or so.

.

They’re not for sale anymore BUT if you can guess how many demos have we recorded for our next album? (or get the closest guess), we’ll send you one in the post! I’ll start by giving you a clue, it’s not 104…

Leave your answer below as a comment, you can comment as many times as you like but your first guess counts! I’ll announce the winner on Tuesday (26th Jan 2010).

Phil

Seasons Greetings!

24.12.08

Hey Everyone!

Just posting this to say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We’ve had one hell of a year, it’s given us some awesome memories and new friends for life.

We’d like to show some huge love and thanks to the bands and people that we met whilst on tour, too many to mention but you all know who you are! A few special thanks to Deanbag (Slug!) and Mouley for all their help and laughs in the foul-smelling van, the awsome Pride Tiger boys, the Summers boys from Totally Tidy Tours, Donna, Crystal and Fran for the use of their beds, sofas and floors around the country!

We’re all having a little holiday right now until Christmas and New Year is done and then we’re gonna be straight back on it. This is gonna include:

Making our tour diary (lots of film to go through…)
Finishing off demos for almost 20 songs for the next album
Carry on touring “Purification” (More of the UK and beyond!)

Thanks to all those who have already bought Purificiation, for those of you who haven’t yet, there’s no excuse with the January sales coming up ;)

So 2008 is on its way out. We’ve probably had our best year as a band we can’t wait to keep the ball rolling… We’ve also had some pretty shitty moments but we’ve pulled through it and it’s only making us stronger as a band and preparing us for more to come!

Good luck to us all in 2009 and we wish you all the best!
Enjoy the holidays guys!
